About Temple Emanu-El
Since 1872, Temple Emanu-El has played a significant role in the North Texas Jewish community. Being the first Jewish congregation in the region, their rich history dates back to almost the same time as Dallas itself. The Challenge
Prior to implementing OneDirectory, Temple Emanu-El faced significant challenges in locating employee information and seeing who fit in where within the organization.
Without a digital employee directory solution, the process of searching for specific information on employees was tedious and time-consuming. They found it difficult to search for specific information on departments and staff without having the whole org chart presented. With OneDirectory, they were able to easily search for employees by name, department, or job title, making the process much quicker and more efficient.

Temple Emanu-El had trialed many other tools such as Creately and Functionly to manage their organizational structure and employee directory, but they found the OneDirectory interface to be the most user-friendly. OneDirectory’s search function made it easy to find employee information by typing in their name, email, department, skill, or location.
One of the most helpful aspects of OneDirectory was the ability to access employees’ full profiles. These detailed profiles contained essential employee information such as job duties, contact information, department, and more. The profiles also included sections for employees to input their skills to help colleagues and supervisors better understand their strengths and how they could be utilized within the organization. The detailed profiles made it easier for employees to get to know each other beyond surface-level information and helped teammates understand how they could best work together.
OneDirectory’s integration with Microsoft Office 365 was another key factor in its adoption at Temple Emanu-El. By pairing OneDirectory with Office 365, employees could access their colleagues’ contact information and easily start a chat within Microsoft Teams.
